First Post!(Problem Set #3)

For math class we are going to be keeping a journal using this blog! The purpose of the journal is to make us aware of the process of problem solving. So today we had a work sheet to help us practice (problem set #3), here is my journal entry for this work.
So Here goes nothinggggg ;D.....


Problem Chosen;#6
1) Describe;So the question I chose from the worksheet is question 6. Basically there is a straight line with 5 different angles. They give you the value of 3 of these angles and they give one as the value X and the last as 2X. Your job is to find the value of X.
2) How I Solved It; The Three angles given are 21, 21 57. So once you add all those up it equals 99. The angle of a straight line equals 180. So minus 99 from 180 and it equals 81. so 2X+X=81 / 3X=81 so devide both by three and it equals 27. Therefore X=27 and 2X=54.

3) Why I Liked This Question; I liked this question because I like doing algebraic equations to find a missing value. I like the way it makes you have to think in a different way and I like when I finally figure it out ! (:


4) What I Learned; I leared how easy it is to do a problem when you organize it and set the steps up properly. Then you can easily go through the question and break it down to find the answer. With practice it gets really easy to do.
